Aloha! My name is Aleina, your future brand & website designer! It is my mission to not only help you create a jaw-dropping online presence so you can attract your ideal clients, but also to create a space where I share my top tips regarding everything business, mindset, and of course branding and website design!
Here’s how you know if you’re ready to hire a web designer!
Before you start looking and inquiring with web designers, there’s a few things that are necessary in order to ensure there are no delays to your design timeline.
Many designers require you to have branding in place before they take you on or at least the bare minimum of having a logo, color palette and fonts. Don’t have this? Most designers offer this as an add on or have brand and web design packages!
You have all of your copy (content/ written verbiage) for your site ready to go. Don’t know where to start? Most designers will have a copy planner / content questionnaire for you to help guide you in writing your own copy. However if you aren’t confident in your writing skills and don’t know where to start with keywords, hiring a professional copywriter is recommended!
(If you don’t have copy, check out “The Total Package” where I partner with a professional copywriter!)
You have professional photos or you have booked a professional photoshoot. A website isn’t complete with blurry photos. It is so important to have professional pictures and invest in a good photographer. Need photography recommendations? I’m happy to source some for you!
If you are building an e-commerce store, make sure you have all of your product photos, details, inventory and shipping information ready to go!
You need to purchase your domain aka your URL. Typically they are about $12 online, but some domains are premium. To check you can go to domains.google.com. This can also be done towards the end of the design process once your designer is ready to connect your domain.
You need a subscription to a website builder (Typically around $30/month). This is a business expense that your web designer is not responsible for. But hey it’s tax deductible!
Depending on your exact website needs, you may need an additional subscription that a website platform isn’t capable of.
Here are a few examples!
Email Marketing Subscriptions: If you want to build your email list (some platforms are free for the first hundred-thousand subscribers)
Booking Software: Whether it’s calendly so people can book a call with you or a special software to book classes or an appointment these are additional subscriptions that can be integrated into your website.
Membership Subscription: If you want to have a membership portal or forum community just for your clients this is also and additional subscription!
Got this list checked off and you’re looking for a web designer to bring your vision to life?
